Jedi 3 Christmas Party

Posted in Happenings on December 30, 2008 by jianan08

Thank God our caregroup ended 2008 with a big bang! We had a wonderful and unforgettable Christmas party at Mark’s apartment on the 20th Dec. I really enjoyed serving together with the people as much as having fun in the party. We were so glad that our friends Yanyan, Jesse, Yujun and Hsu Whay could attend the party. I believe they knew the meaning of Christmas better through this event.

Here are some highlights of the party:

  • Thai food – Name was in-charged of buying food at Golden Mile Complex. Britma & I helped him carried the food. We bought grilled fish, roasted chicken, papaya salad, fried pork’s neck, Thai salty and spicy soup, pork’s salad, mango sticky rice, etc…David provided transport to Mark’s house and prepared the food before the dinner started. I love the food as they are all very nice that day! I just kept on eating and eating…I always like Thai food because of its sweet taste.
  • Programme – We played “passing the box” to get people share the question Florence prepared. We had great fun and laugh passing the thing around (with the game music “I like to move it, move it” played in background) as everyone was trying to avoid getting it. Before the end of the party, we had a memorable carolling session. The lights were switched off and the candles were lit up one by one. Then we sang the carol. The passing of candle light symbolizes the passing of hope to one another. Thanks Mimie and Kate for leading this.

Finally, thanks Mark for allowing us to use his apartment. Thanks Britma for taking pictures for us throughout the event. The party is not complete without the contribution and presence of everyone.

Brrr.. tuk-tuk.. Come come $2.50!!

Posted in Happenings on December 9, 2008 by jabezloh

Is that the any GREat SALE.. everything @ $2.50?? Dream on Dream on… It’s the cost of riding a bumboat to Ubin. Yupz… on the 29th of Nov.. Jedi 2 went to Ubin island. Yes… it was a sunny day plus heavy showers along the way. But Thank GOD, HE holded the rain and the weather was coolz.

A Kampong.. experience for some.. rather the Singapore “Outback”.. chill chill. One of the highlights, was the famous Nasi lemak @ Changi.. which took quite a while to enjoyed.. but i still prefer my BK Mushroom swiss.. heehhee. The adventure started off around 430 pm, bike warriors on the go…. “BEwAre of MUD and mozzies & WILD BOARs!!!”

It was a interesting feeling cycling in wilderness.. First destination was the Sensory Trail, where we got to see local spices, fruits trees, vegetables. Most of which is we only eat them but never see the plant in real life, so it was pretty eye opening experience…  Up next the trip to Chek Java (Final destination), Mangrove and Coastal walk.. overhere, we got to see swamp areas and the plants (heaps of attap chees!!). We maded our way up a tower and was given a paranomic view of Ubin..it was EYE OPENING AND WOW!!!

3 Cheers for CN & Faith as they manage to conquered the trail on tandem, definitely a great feat.. Sadly, didnt see any man grooving in the mangrove nor swamp thing saying hi to us.. but we saw WILD BOARS!!! Particularly, they are elusive animals and rare sight.. but thank God.. we manage to see them!! Nothing beats ending the day with a volumptous dinner @ Lau Pa Sia.. It was a tiring but healthy and great day of fellowship..

Congrats to those… graduated from “YOU BEEN” after surviving UBIN!!!

Till then!!!

The Eating ‘Marathon’

Posted in Fun@caregroup on December 1, 2008 by jianan08

We had a ‘Eating Marathon’ last Saturday. The route is Kallang MRT –> GeyLang Lorong 9 –> Kallang Leisure Park –> Golden Mile Complex.

We met a few new faces - Deo, Kran (Mark’s Thai friends) & Hsu Wai (James’ Myammar friend). At lunch, we ate the famous Beef Hor Fun at Geylang Lorong 9. After the meal, we had a good time of chit-chating.

We then moved to Kallang Leisure Park to play bowling. Though it is Mark and Kate first time, they played really well. We split ourselves into two teams and had a fun competition. We all did not score more than 100 but we really had lots of fun.
